Cake bakers, decorators invited to compete in White Rose challenge
New and veteran cake bakers and decorators can show off their talents next month in the White Rose Sugar Art Competition and Live Buttercream Challenge.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Christ United Methodist Church, 5 Main St. Yorkana.
The contest is open to youth, amateur and professional bakers. All contestants receive a gift bag, and prizes will be awarded to winners.
Viewing the decorated cakes is free; admission to demonstrations or to the Live Buttercream Challenge is $3 per person for spectators.
The show is sponsored by the White Rose Cake Decorators and the Pennsylvania chapter of the International Cake Exploration Societe.
The show supports the Icing Smiles charity, which helps families with critically ill children.
Saturday is the deadline for pre-registration and reduced fees for competitors.
Registration also will be accepted from 7:30 to 9 a.m. the day of the show. To obtain a registration packet, email Sheila Miller at SheilasCakery@comcast.net.
