Returning warm weather got me out for a 4.3 mile hike on the Mason-Dixon Trail yesterday. I hiked the Otter Creek/Urey Overlook loop in a little under two hours. Would have been shorter if I didn't stop to shoot so many photos and would have been much longer if I had taken my Tenkara fly rod with me!  The trail drops from the parking area along Rt. 425 in Airville, to Otter Creek where it follows the meandering stream to the mouth at the Susquehanna before climbing again to Urey Overlook.  This is bit of a strenuous hike, though a short one, so it would be a great warm up hike for bigger trips.

Spring is finally in bloom along the trail and there are new sprouts and leaf buds everywhere you look.  Gill-over-the-ground, Virginia Bluebonnets and white trillium, my absolute favorite wildflower, are blooming along the trail. If you want to see them, go soon because they will all be gone within the next few days to a week.
