STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Dover Area High School: Jacob McLean and Hannah Taylor for April.

RECOGNITION

Dover Area High School: Awards were given and new officers were installed at the FFA banquet on May 7. Students recognized were:

Greenhand degrees: Haley Sweitzer, Destiny Folk, Kyle Sharp, Kirsten Arcarese, Wyatt Hoffman and Erika Myers.

Chapter degrees: Kirsten Arcarese, Jacob Bowers, Kale Stermer, Konnor Bair and Destiny Folk.

Keystone degrees: Alysha Sweitzer and Jacob Fetrow.

FFA jackets, first year: Haley Sweitzer and Wyatt Hoffman at the FFA Convention at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

Scholarship awards: Alysha Sweitzer, Jacob Fetrow, Emily Yinger, Avonlea Puckett, Kale Stermer, Erika Myers, Kyle Sharp, Kirstyn Swancer, Taylor Shultz, Kirsten Arcarese, Wyatt Hoffman, Haley Sweitzer and Bridget Ifkovits.

Proficiency awards: Haley Sweitzer for star greenhand, creed speaking, and diversified livestock production; Kale Stermer for star chapter farmer; Emily Yinger for prepared public speaking and agricultural communications; Alysha Sweitzer for beef production and agricultural mechanics design and fabrication; Konnor Bair and Weston Hoffman for agricultural mechanics repair and maintenance; Taylor Shultz for agricultural communications; Avonlea Puckett for wildlife production and maintenance; Erika Myers for home, community development; Bridget Ifkovits for equine science; Jacob Fetrow for beef production; Jacob Bowers for fiber, oil crop production; and Rachel Stine for dairy production.

New officers: Kirstyn Swancer, president; Konnor Bair, vice president; Haley Sweitzer, secretary; Kyle Sharp, treasurer; Destiny Folk, reporter; Erika Myers, sentinel; Weston Hoffman, chaplain; and Kale Stermer, student advisor.

St. Rose of Lima: Shelby Yinger, a fourth-grade teacher, won a Golden Apple Award from the Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg.
