York Suburban grad Ansell earns NEAC volleyball honors

York Suburban High School graduate Kaleb Ansell has made a great first impression with the Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team.

The 6-foot, 3-inch freshman setter is the North Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and has also been named to the All-NEAC First Team.

Ansell finished second in the NEAC with 915 assists and 8.97 assists per set. His 9.33 assists per set in NEAC play were the best in the conference this season. Ansell also finished in the top-10 in blocks as he had 60 this season, third-best on the team. Ansell has had 48 kills this season from the setter position and has also added 15 aces and 147 digs.

The final  match of the regular season was one of Ansell's best, as he had a career-best 47 assists and added nine digs and two kills in a win over Wilson. Ansell has had six matches this season with 40 or more assists.

Lancaster Bible College is 25-9 overall and finished 12-4 in the NEAC regular season. The Chargers lost to Wells in the NEAC semifinals on Friday night, 3-2.
