BLOG: Eastern grad Andrew Davis wins junior golf opener

Andrew Davis fired an even-par 71 on Monday to win the Boys' 15-18 Blue Division in the opening York County Junior Golf Association tournament of the 2016 summer season at Valley Green Golf Course in northern York County.

Davis, a recent Eastern York High School graduate, fired a 3-under 33 on the back nine en route to a three-stroke victory over Luke Hoffnagle, who will be a senior at Spring Grove next year. Andrew Forjan, who will be a senior at York Catholic this fall, took third at 76. Logan Snyder and Matt Bricker tied for fourth at 78. Snyder will be a junior at Dover this fall, while Bricker will be a junior at Central York.

Andrew Davis is enjoying a standout season on the York County Junior Golf Association tour.

Jun Lee captured the Boys' 15-18 White Division at 79, which was five shots clear of Darin Wise. Devin Peart was third at 90.

Julianne Lee captured the Girls' 14-and-Under Division with a 79, which was two shots ahead of Kendel Abrams. Ella Moores was third at 95.

YCJGA releases its schedule, adds developmental program

In the Boys' 14-and-Under Division, Andrew Roberts took the title at 87, while Alex Gekas was next at 90. Michael DeRose finished third at 92.
