In a track and field career packed with awards, Central York High School graduate Megan Lundy has added another major honor.

The Shippensburg University senior was named to the 2015-16 Capital One Academic All-District 2 ™ Women’s Track & Field Team for NCAA Division II athletics on Thursday afternoon.

Central York High School graduate Megan Lundy has won a $7,500 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

Lundy, an early childhood education major, has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average through her collegiate academic career. This award marks her third consecutive Academic All-District recognition. In each of the last two years, Lundy has been selected to the Academic All-America ® Second Team.

The Academic All-District™ teams, as nominated and voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The purpose of the program is to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Lundy was one of 10 individuals honored for District 2 — which includes all athletes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).

In 2016, Lundy was a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conferece indoor champion on the 4x400-meter relay, anchoring the SU quartet to the title. She finished third in the open 400 meters at the PSAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships, wrapping up a stellar career in which she achieved All-PSAC (Top 3) finishes in all eight of her individual 400-meter races.

Including her turns as the anchor on the 4x4 relay, Lundy notched All-PSAC finishes in all of the 400-meter conference runs in her career save for one time, winning nine conference titles. She was a NCAA Indoor All-American in the 400 meters back in 2014, placing eighth.
