In an unprecedented achievement for the local league, York County teams have swept the top three seeds in the District 3 Girls' Lacrosse Tournament.

York Catholic (16-1) captured the No. 1 spot, followed by No. 2 Kennard-Dale (18-1) and No. 3 Susquehannock (16-3). The seedings were based on power ratings. K-D beat York Catholic on Thursday night for the York-Adams League Tournament championship.

Amanda Tutano and her York Catholic teammates have earned the No. 1 seed in the District 3 Girls' Lacrosse Tournament.

Three other York-Adams teams made the 16-team girls' field: No. 11 New Oxford (10-5), No. 13 Red Lion (12-6) and No. 16 West York (9-6). The victory total for the New Oxford is a program record.

York Catholic and West York will square off in a first-round match at York Suburban at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The other local first-round girls' match-ups are:

Kennard-Dale playing host to No. 15 Lampeter-Strasburg (11-6) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Susquehannock playing host to No. 14 Penn Manor (11-6) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Red Lion at No. 4 Wilson (15-3) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

And New Oxford at Manheim Township at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The local girls' teams, however, will have to fight history if they are to win a district title. No York-Adams girls' team has ever captured a district championship.

In fact, only one team has earn a District 3 girls' crown since the district lacrosse playoffs started in 2009. That would be Manheim Township, which has won seven straight championships.

This year, the Blue Streaks (11-6) are seeded No. 6. It should be noted, however, that all six of those losses have come to teams outside of District 3.

A York-Adams girls' team has made the district final only once, in 2013, when K-D lost 14-10 to Manheim Township.

Boys' pairings: On the boys' side, the York County schools didn't fare so well in the district power ratings.

York Catholic (14-3) is top-seeded local team at No. 6, followed by No. 8 Red Lion (14-5), No. 11 Central York (11-6), No. 12 Dallastown (11-4) and No. 14 Susquehannock (9-6). York Catholic beat Red Lion for the York-Adams League Tournament title on Thursday evening.

Wilson (17-0) is the No. 1 seed in the boys' field, followed by No. 2 Manheim Township (15-2) and No. 3 Cumberland Valley (15-2).

The first-round pairings for the York County teams are:

York Catholic vs. Central York at 7 p.m. Tuesday at York Suburban.

Red Lion playing host to No. 9 Berks Catholic (13-3) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Dallastown at No. 5 Hershey (14-4) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

And Susquehannock at Cumberland Valley at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Manheim Township owns four of the seven District 3 boys' titles, with Carlisle, Ephrata and Hempfield taking the others.

No York-Adams boys' lacrosse team has ever made a district final.

All records for local teams are through Thursday's matches. All records for non-York-Adams League teams are provided by District 3.
