BLOG: Reddinger is Y-A girls' lacrosse player of year

The York-Adams League Girls' Lacrosse Coaches Association revealed the first- and second-team members for its 2016 all-star teams on Sunday night.

Along with the teams being announced, the Player of the Year, Attacker of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, Defender of the Year, Goalie of the Year and Coach of the Year were also announced.

New Oxford's Braxtin Reddinger was named Player of the Year, while Rob Linthicum of York Catholic was named Coach of the Year. Emmie Dressel of Kennard-Dale earned Attacker of the Year, Reddinger also picked up Midfielder of the Year, Maura Palandro of the Fighting Irish earned Defender of the Year and South Western goalie Laura Silver was named Goalie of the Year.

Here is a list of all the players who made the first and second teams:

First Team

Attackers: Dressel (K-D), Anna Linthicum (YC), Kayla Held (Susquehannock), Addison Billings (Central York) and Lindsey China (YC).

Midfielders: Reddinger (NO), Alyssa Adams (Red Lion), Rachel Marshner (Sus), Riley Toomey (Eastern York), Morgan Bowings (K-D) and Lisa Casagrande (YC).

Defenders: Palandro (YC), Rachel Miller (Sus), Haley Martinez (Sus), Brooke Siebert (K-D) and Kayleigh Pokrivka (YC).

Goalie: Silver (SW).

Second Team

Attackers: Maddie Day (K-D), Peyton Shima (RL), Maddie Ellis (Sus) and Kenna Hancock (Sus).

Midfielders: Gena Speights (Sus), Ally Williams (West York), Gillian Zimmerman (K-D), Raleigh Bateman (NO), Melissa Clapsaddle (Dallastown), Claire Gamache (K-D), Elizabeth Antoshak (SW) and Carlin Mayer (YC).

Defenders: Samantah Richards (Spring Grove), Renee Gering (K-D) and Chloe Pevarnik (NO).

Goalie: Clare Boone (K-D)

Honorable Mention

Goalies: Victoria Gross (WY) and Laura Sinkovitz (York Suburban).
