2021 dog licenses available

Dog licenses for 2021 are now available through the York County Treasurer’s Office.

All dogs three months old and older must have a license by Jan. 1.

An annual dog license is $8.50 or $6.50 if the dog is spayed or neutered. Lifetime licenses are available for dogs with permanent identifications, and those are $51.50 or $31.50 if the dog is spayed or neutered.

Older adults and persons with disabilities may purchase a license at a discounted rate.

The dog license is used by local police and shelter to identify lost dogs and return them safely to their owners. Dog owners caught without a license can face a fine of up to $300.

Dog owners can purchase the licenses online, by mail or in person at the Treasurer’s Office at the York County Administrative Center, 28 E. Market St., or at 11 satellite subagents throughout York County. More information is available on the treasurer’s website,

Notify the treasurer’s office if you have a change in your contact information or if you lose a lifetime license. Contact Alison Falcon at AFalcon@YorkCountyPA.gov or 717-771-4386.
