The lake at Gifford Pinchot State Park will be lowered beginning Monday.

Drawdown for Pinchot Lake

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has announced that starting on Monday, Pinchot Lake at Gifford Pinchot State Park will be drawn down and lowered 5 feet for maintenance. 

Repairs and improvements will be made to the Quaker Race swimming beach, Conewago Day Use Area and other shoreline locations.

The lake will remain open for both boating and fishing, but boat launching could be difficult and shoreline fishing will be limited.

No other park facilities will be affected by the maintenance.

New Cumberland 

Church to hold blood drive

The New Cumberland First Church of God, 323 Reno Ave. in New Cumberland, will be holding a community blood drive, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

All donors must make an appointment through the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank and wear a mask throughout the entire time in the church.
