YMCA of York 

LiveStrong at the YMCA golf outing  

The YMCA of York and York County will host its annual LiveStrong at the YMCA golf outing on Friday, Sept. 27, at the Hanover Country Club. 

The event check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Entrance fees are $150 per player, which includes golf and cart, range, lunch, awards dinner, golf gift package and snacks and beverages. Tickets are also available for the power package and the golf awards dinner only.  

Course contests include: closest-to-pin on each par 3, longest drive contest (men, ladies and seniors), hole-in-one prizes, door prizes, and optional prize contests as well. 

Proceeds from this event will go to support LiveStrong at the YMCA, a free 12-week program that supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual strength.

Spry Church 

Fall missions yard sale 

Spry Church, 50 School St.,  will have its annual fall missions yard sale, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday,  Sept. 27, and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. 

Included in the sale will be holiday decorating items, clothing for all ages, toys, books, kitchen supplies, tools and miscellaneous items.   

Sandwiches, drinks and home-baked goods will also be available for purchase.  

All of the proceeds from this event will be used to support missions locally, nationally and internationally.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Vegan Restaurant Week 

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, Penn Market, 380 W. Market St., will celebrate Vegan Restaurant Week.  

Activities include food preservation, pie baking, vegan recipe sharing and highlighting local vegan products. Vendors, health/wellness organizations and local businesses will collaborate to show the York community how healthy, easy, and delicious compassionate living can be.
