Get up close and personal with the moon and other objects in space during the Lunar Wonders Observing event, 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Barshinger soccer field off Accomac Road in Hellam Township.

The monthly event, hosted by Night Wonders of Astronomy with partners Kreutz Creek Valley Library, Hellam Township Recreation and the York County Astronomical Society, will use telescopes to show off lunar features. Constellations, planets, nebulae, meteors and satellites might also be visible. Lucky viewers could glimpse the International Space Station as it passes overhead.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be available. The program is free, but donations are welcome.

For more information, email Ron Bolton at rrbhcr@verizon.net or find Night Wonders of Astronomy on Facebook.
