The York County Department of Parks and Recreation will host an owl walk, 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Nixon County Park. There will be another owl walk, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at the Heritage Rail Trail County Park.

On Friday, join staff and a wildlife rehabilitator for an indoor and outdoor look into the world of owls. See a local species or two up close, and go on a quiet hike while calling for owls. Dress for the weather. This walk is appropriate for ages 10 and older. There is no fee. Donations will be accepted to support wildlife rehabilitation in York County.

On Feb. 16, the Rail Trail walk will start at Hanover Junction Train Station. Enjoy a quiet hike while calling for screech owls. Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided. A parent must accompany all children younger than 16. This walk is appropriate for ages 10 and older. There is no fee.
