The local Furry Friends Network will host a Race for Their Lives fundraiser, 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Gifford Pinchot State Park, Conewago day use area, Lewisberry.

The 5K trail run and two-mile fun walk will benefit local animals in foster care program. A special tribute and butterfly release will honor the late Dr. Curtis Barnett, Carlisle veterinarian who died April 8 after an accident on his farm.

There will also be an on-site breakfast and lunch service, canine goodies, door prizes, photos and more.

Registration open at 8:45 a.m. The fee is $35, which can be paid in advance at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com.
