Fruit/veggie vouchers still available

Distribution of the remaining 2017 fruit and vegetable vouchers for eligible York County seniors who have not received them for 2017 will be held, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Heritage Senior Center, 3700-4 Davidsburg Road, Dover Township.

Fresh vegetables

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is offered by the York County Area Agency on Aging in conjunction with the state Department of Agriculture. It provides $20 in vouchers for fresh fruit and vegetables from participating local farm markets.

To be eligible, York County residents must be 60 or older and have a 2017 total gross annual household income at or below $22,311 for a single person or $30,044 for a couple.

Proxy forms are available at most senior centers and online at www.ycaaa.org.

Residents of nursing homes, personal care facilities or any residential setting that offer meals are ineligible.

The vouchers can be redeemed until Nov. 30.
