Eclipse viewing event in Lancaster County

Exelon Generation, in partnership with Rittenhouse Astronomical Society, will host a free public-viewing event for the total solar eclipse, noon-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at Muddy Run Visitor Center and astronomy observatory, 172 Bethesda Church Road W., Holtwood, Lancaster County.

The rain-or-shine event will feature astronomy experts and hands-on activities during the first total eclipse to cross the United States since 1979. The height of the eclipse in this area should be at 2:42 p.m.

Bring lawn chairs, and snacks. Telescopes are welcome.
