Pennsylvania

The York County History Center will kick off the public phase of a $5 million capital campaign with a free, family friendly event, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Colonial Complex, 157 W. Market St.

The event will feature a day of time travel through the Revolutionary period, the Civil War, World War II, and more, with a spotlight on York County history. There will be characters, dancing, games and other activities.

The campaign is to finance the center’s goal of operating its museum, library and archives from the former Met-Ed Steam Generating Plant, 121 N. Pershing Ave., which is set to open in 2020.
