It's on to the world's richest race for 5-year-old California Chrome. The American horse, ridden by Victor Espinoza, raced to victory in a $150,000 event at the Meydan Race Course in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Thursday. The 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner appears to be back in top form after an easy two-length victory, a second straight win for the popular horse on the comeback trail after an injury. His next race will likely be the $10 million Dubai World Cup on March 26.

The event will feature a pasta and salad bar, derby viewing, live entertainment by Jerry Overby, a silent auction, photo booth, a cash bar and games.

The cost is $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Tickets are available at the VFW post and at the senior center, 1472 Roth’s Church Road, Spring Grove.
