The York Branch of the American Association of University Women will host its Spring Market Faire of Kitchens, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, May 1.

The tour will include cooking demonstrations in five homes: a sophisticated country kitchen in Red Lion; an early 20th century home with a French Provincial kitchen and a collection of blue and white crocks; a 1959 home with a recently installed Ikea kitchen; a remodeled home with a central kitchen adjacent to an airy great room; and a cheery kitchen with whimsical touches and a collection of antique glassware.

The demonstrations will include recipes and samples by chefs from Janina’s Fine Desserts, the Out Door Country Club, Tutoni’s, Gigi’s Crepes and Anstine’s Candy Box.

Each home will also feature shopping from women-owned shops: Collage Specialty Shop, Kimmans, Sweet Melissa’s Dream, the Strawberry Shop, Small Star Art House and Theater, AAUW Bake Shop and Jewelry and Knives.

The cost is $25 and tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tickets are available at the Strawberry Shop in the Queensgate Shopping Center; Collage Specialty Shop, 932 S. George St.; and at three Christmas Tree Hill locations: at the Mansion in Meadowbrook Village, at 2801 S. George St. and at Westgate, 4000 W. Market St.

All proceeds will be used for scholarships and the AAUW fund.
