Two shredding events planned


Two shredding events have been announced in York.


Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York County, will host Shredding for Literacy, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Lafayette Plaza, North Pershing Avenue and West Philadelphia Street in York City.

Community members can bring personal financial documents and any other papers that contain confidential information for free shredding on site.

Attendees are asked to donate a gently used book for local students for each box of material to be shredded.

The AARP Fraud Watch Network will host a free shredding event, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Continental Paper Grading, 3550 Concord Road.

Acceptable items are old documents and checks, and credit and obsolete ID cards.

Participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the York County Food Bank.
