The York County Solid Waste Authority is sponsoring a recycled art contest for high school students in celebration of Earth Day.

A gallery exhibit will be on display at the Creative York West Gallery, 118 West Philadelphia St., from Saturday, April 15, through Saturday, April 22. Contest judging and a public reception will be held, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the gallery.

Celebrity judges will be Kelley Gibson, of the Cultural Alliance of York County; Kevin Schreiber, of the York County Economic Alliance; and Tom Smith, of Keep York Beautiful,

Participating high schools are Central York, Dallastown Area, Kennard-Dale, Northern, Red Land, Red Lion Area, South Western and York Suburban. Thirty-one students have entered the contest.

Prizes will be awarded.
