First Capital Federal Credit Union, York, received a category’s best Diamond Award from the Credit Union National Association Marketing and Business Development Council. First Capital won the video category for its “Financial Feud Video,” a fun, interactive way to showcase the differences between credit unions and banks. The award was presented at the council’s annual conference, March 29-April 1 in San Antonio, Texas. Tara Houser, vice president of marketing, accepted the award.

Giant/Martin’s has announced the local finalists in its recent talent contest for associates from four states are Red Lion Giant employees Kenny Fernsler, the meat manager, and Drew Bennie, the assistant meat manager. They won $1,000 each.


The York County Economic Alliance has announced changes and additions to its personnel team.

  • Cindi Greco will take over the task of manager of member relations.
  • Katie Mahoney will join YCEA as vice president of marketing and communications.
  • Samantha Galvez will join YCEA as marketing and communications manager.
