Free events for Heart Month
WellSpan Health will host free events in York County as part of American Heart Month.
- Paint a Path to a Healthy Heart, 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, and 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at WellSpan York Hospital Childbirth and Family Education, 2017 Springwood Road, Queensgate Towne Center. Includes talks with experts, health information and screenings and a painting social. Register by Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 851-3500.
- Walk n’ Talk with a WellSpan Doc, 6-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at the York Galleria, main entrance near Boscov’s, 2899 Whiteford Road. Participants will have the opportunity to walk with Dr. Peter Barclay, a cardiology physician, and discuss heart-health issues. Includes health screenings and a social gathering. - Cardiovascular Lecture: New Non-Surgical Therapies for the Heart, 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Road. Dr. James Harvey will talk at 6:30 p.m. Register by Friday, Feb. 17, at 851-3500.
- Heart-Healthy Grocery Store Tour, 6-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Giant Food Store, 275 Pauline Drive. Sarah Glunz, Giant’s lead dietitian, will help participants navigate the grocery store aisles for heart healthy foods. Register by Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 851-3500.
