-- The Pennsylvania Public Relations Society has announced its 2017 executive board officers. They are Crystal L. Hull, of SpiriTrust Lutheran, president; Larissa Bedrick, of American Heart Association, vice president; Erin Waters-Trasatt, of PennDOT, secretary; and Ken Robinson, of Quantum Communications, treasurer.

-- SpiriTrust Lutheran has announced its newest board members are the Rev. Christopher Frye, of St. Luke ELC, Chambersburg; the Rev. Dr. Mark Oldenburg, of Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg; and Lawrence Young, an attorney at CGA Law Firm, York. Frye also joined its foundation board of trustees.

-- The York County Solid Waste Authority elected its 2017 officers. They are Ed Heindel, chairman; Fred Ritzmann, vice chairman; Joe Hoheneder, secretary; Matt Sommer, treasurer; and Pat Ball, assistant secretary/treasurer.

Also, members appointed Robert Strickler, of CGA Law Firm, solicitor; Charlie Calkins, of CGA Law Firm, assistant solicitor; Arcadis, Engineer of record; and Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP, auditor.

-- Baker Tilly Virchow Krause partner, Julius Green, and senior manager, Kerri Bogda, spoke at the firm’s Not-for-Profit Fiscal Workshop, Jan. 19 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

-- S&T Bank has announced that Jordan Space, of Camp Hill, a senior vice president, commercial banking regional manager at Integrity Bank, has been appointed to the Lancaster General Health Finance/Capital Allocations Committee.

-- Dr. Laura Niesen de Abruna, York College provost and Association of Chief Academic Officers president, has announced the launch of an 18-month ACAO Digital Fellows program. Supported by a $1.04 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the program is designed to provide provosts and other chief academic officers with critical information, effective resources, and tested strategies to help with high quality digital courseware.

GRANT

-- The Comcast Foundation has awarded $309,000 in grants to 21 nonprofit organizations in the region, including The Arc of York County, which received funds to support assistive and adaptive technology.
