York College has announced several public events in September.

  • Pianist James Winn, an award-winning pianist, will conduct a masterclass, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, then perform an all-Schubert program, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in DeMeester Recital Hall, Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall.
  • The annual Humanities Film Series will present a screening of the thriller, “99 Homes,” and a discussion with director Ramin Bahrani, 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in room 218 of the Humanities Center. The 2014 film features Rick Carver (Michael Shannon), a ruthless businessman making a killing by repossessing homes, and Dennis Nash (Andrew Garfield), a desperate single father who goes to work for him.
  • The Humanities Lecture Series will feature “Three Archives,” by Susan Wells, 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in room 218, Humanities Center. Wells, a Temple University professor, will discuss her work at the Archive of Women and Medicine, the Historical Library of Medicine at Montpelier, and her work developing “Our Bodies, Ourselves and the Work of Writing.”
