The York County Department of Parks and Recreation will host a celebration of butterflies and moths, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, and noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Nixon County Park.

Programs are:

Informational butterfly walk through the goldenrod field, 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday.

Live caterpillar discussion (drop-in), 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday.

Pollination discussion of butterflies and moths, 2-3 p.m. Saturday.

Insect hunt in the sensory garden or by the stream (drop-in), 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Presentation about monarchs for ages 10 and older, 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free and registration is not required.
