ORGANIZATIONS

Habitat for Humanity: For the second consecutive year, the global organization has been named Brand of the Year in the social services nonprofit category of the Harris Poll EquiTrend Equity Score. It was also named Most Loved and Most Trusted brand within its category.

Pa. Chesapeake Bay Foundation: Received the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence for helping landowners plant thousands of trees, reduce pollution of rivers and streams, and improve water quality in the commonwealth. The foundation was recognized at a celebration in Harrisburg.

MILITARY

Army Reserve: Capt. John F. Yanikov, of York, has deployed overseas to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Air Force: Airman David Speicher Jr., of Delta, graduated from basic military training, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Duquesne University: Students who were inducted into Phi Kappa Phi collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines are Marianne Freed and Amy Spigelmyer, both of Hanover.

Florida Institute of Technology: Bryce Beard, of York Haven, was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi national collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

King’s College: Justin Barnett, of Dallastown, was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma national Catholic honor society.

Kutztown University: Emma Raymond, of York, was inducted into the Alpha Phi Sigma national criminal justice honor society; Julia Snyder, of Red Lion, was inducted into Sigma Delta Pi national Hispanic honor society; and Lisa Drusedum, of York, was inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta sociology honor society.

Lycoming College: Emily DiBiase, of Red Lion, and Rachel Duncan, of York Haven, were initiated into Phi Kappa Phi national collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
