Eastern York High School: Katie Keller and Kody Ahrens, Students of the Month for March.


Northern High School: Seven NHS students were chosen as Students of the Quarter at Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School for the second marking period. They are Bailey Hipp, Grade 12, horticulture and landscaping; Tiffany Huffman, Grade 11, American studies; Abigail Koschier, Grade 12, dental assisting; Travis Lawyer, Grade 12, HVAC; Brody Myers, Grade 12, carpentry; Tyler Preun, Grade 11, diesel technology; and Jeremy Sampson, Grade 10, HVAC.

Northern Middle School: Eighth-grade English students spent the 100th day of school using an online educational program called Free Education & Free Rice. For every correct answer, donates 10 grains of rice to feed the hungry through the World Food Programme. Most of the middle-schoolers were able to answer 100 or more vocabulary questions, resulting in a donation of almost eight pounds of rice to the project.

Wellsville Elementary: Steve Knight, a weatherman at WHP CBS21 TV station visited the school on Feb. 3 after it was anonymously nominated as a "Cool School." To see a video from the newscast, which aired Feb. 11, visit
