Southern York admin to join state association leadership
Southern York County School District's chief financial and operations officer has been appointed the director of leadership and development for the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials.
Wayne McCullough, who has more than 28 years of experience in school business management, will start the newly created position on July 1. McCullough has taken point on more than 40 consulting projects for school districts across the state in the past 10 years, and he will continue these efforts by providing consulting reviews in all aspects of school operations, according to a press release.
The Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials is a statewide association dedicated to offering its 3,000-plus members with education, training and professional development and strives to support classroom learning in schools through smart business practices, according to the association's website.
In addition to his experience in school business management, McCullough served as the association's president in the 2010-11 fiscal year and received the Gary Reeser Memorial Award, the association’s most prestigious award, according to the press release. Those who receive the honor are selected on the basis of professionalism, superior job performance, development of innovative ideas and contributions to the profession of school business management.
During his tenure at Southern York, the district has been recognized for numerous awards from several statewide education organizations, including two Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials Gold Awards of Excellence in School Facilities and two association Awards for Achievement, according to the release.
“Dr. McCullough will be a great addition to our team in Harrisburg,” said Jay Himes, the association's executive director. “We are very excited about the opportunity to have Wayne’s expertise and expansive knowledge in all areas of school operations.”
