Penn State Extension and the York County Master Gardeners will present GardenWise, an educational program of speakers and workshops for home and community gardeners, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Central York Middle School, 1950 N. Hills Road.

The keynote speaker will be Douglas Tallamy, an entomologist at the University of Delaware and author of "Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens." He will talk about garden designs as well as moths and caterpillars.

Other speakers will be Deborah Delaney of the University of Delaware; Mike Raupp, of the University of Maryland; Steve Bogash; Wendy Brister; and Rick Carr.

There will be sessions on composting; landscape design; garlic and shallots; honey bee biology; and pest and disease control. There will also be vendors, crafts and exhibits.

Registration is required by Friday, March 4.

The cost is $58 by Friday, Feb. 19, or $65 by March 4. Breakfast and lunch are included.
