Northern Middle School: Seventh-grade English teacher Rich Alioth had his article, "Whiteface Whiteout," published in the spring 2015 edition of Peeks magazine. The article can be found here.

Northern Middle/High Schools: Award winners in the 7th annual Miranda's Smile Shoot-a-Thon on Feb. 6, which raised a new record of $10,023, are:

Jeff Reed Legacy Award (top overall fundraiser): Abby Reeder, $1,630.

Boys top fundraiser: Ryan Heisey, $350.

Cheerleader top fundraiser: Erin McKay, $135.

Free-throw champions: Jake Anderson, overall; Eric Jacobs, boys varsity; Kyra Gerber, girls varsity; Jake Anderson, boys JV; Abbie Cledaniel, girls JV; Sean Colgan, boys Grade 9; Nick Yinger, boys junior high varsity; Allie French, girls junior high varsity; Ben Jacobs, boys junior high JV; Kyla Kolivoski, girls junior high JV.

Boys/girls skills competition: Maddie Waits.

Shooting for Stars competition: Scott Leitholf, Catherine Brubaker and Coach Karolena Lehman.

Three-point shooting competition: Boys varsity team.

Northern High School: Ninth-graders who won honorable mentions for their Scholastic Writing Award entries are Elsie Anderson, short story, and Marc Hudson and Charlie Humpert, both science fiction/fantasy.
