Elizabethtown College: Local students who were named emergent scholars are Adam Saubel, of Glen Rock; Lindsay Zumbrum, of Hanover; and Kimberly Holbert, Jennifer Lloyd, Rachael Nelson and Emily Nolte, all of York.

Elizabethtown College: Alexandra Plowman, of York, has been inducted into Gamma Sigma Epsilon, Rho Eta chemistry honor society.

George Mason University: Alexzander Mauler, of Red Lion Senior High School, Daniel McNair, of Susquehannock High School, and Austin Kutcher, of York, have been selected as national youth correspondents for the 2016 Washington Journalism and Media Conference in July.

Georgia Institute of Technology: Grace Reed, of Hanover, and Corey Caskey, of York, received faculty honors for the fall semester.

Georgia State University: Reaghan Braun, of Hanover, was named to the fall president's list.

Lebanon Valley College: Local students who completed Brave Zone Network Training during the fall semester are Cheyanne Brown and Alexandria Lehman, both of York.

Lebanon Valley College: Carrie Pfleiger, of Dover, submitted a proposal for a grant from the new Student Innovation Fund, which resulted in a monetary award to the Global Education Club. The funds will be used for the spring International Food Festival.

St. Francis University: Natalie Albright, of York, was named to the fall provost's list.

Stevenson University: Student-athletes who were named to the MAC fall academic honor roll are Daniel Waldrup, of Red Lion; Kara Anderson, of Shrewsbury; and Holli Eppley and Alexis Young, both of York.

Susquehanna University: Austin Grubb, of Hanover, is studying in Heredia, Costa Rica, during the spring semester through the Global Opportunities program.

University of Rhode Island: Matthew Sirois, of Hanover, completed a fall internship with the Office of International Education.

Widener University: Aidan Hostetter, of York, participated in the European Union simulation in Antwerp, Belgium.

Widener University: Kennedy Thompson, a student at Kennard-Dale High School, received a High School Leadership Award for her volunteer work at a local hospital and a community library.

York College: Megan Jones, of Felton, received a Student of the Year Award from the Lancaster-York Chapter of APICS, a professional association for supply chain and operations management. Jones serves as the chapter's vice president of education.


Air Force: Airman Jacob P. Smith, of York, graduated from basic military training, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
