The 4th Congressional District Internship Association has announced that the application deadline for the 2016 summer program is Jan. 15.
The internship program, held May through August, gives college students a chance to learn about the realities of public service through full-time internships with Congressman Scott Perry. Each intern spends five weeks in Washington, D.C., assisting with legislative projects, and spends five weeks assisting with constituent casework in one of Perry’s district offices in York, Gettysburg and Wormleysburg, Pa.
Any undergraduate college student who is a resident of the district and has completed their freshman year by the beginning of the internship is eligible to apply
Interns receive a weekly stipend and housing is provided while working in Washington, D.C.
The non-partisan selection of interns is based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and a commitment to the ideals of public service.
