The York Rescue Mission will host a "Stuff the Truck" event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Markets at Shrewsbury, Susquehanna Trail, Glen Rock.

The mission is partnering with Gifts of Grace, WARM 103.3, Turkey Hill, and Bethesda Mission to host the event.

Santa Claus will be present and WARM 103.3 will be playing Christmas tunes.

There will also be face-painting, special discounts and free samples.

The organization asks that people donate fresh and canned fruits, fresh and canned vegetables, canned yams and sweet potatoes, chicken or beef broth, condensed soup, oatmeal, grits or cream of wheat, pancake mix and syrup, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise, sugar and substitute sweeteners, boxed stuffing mix, milk and orange juice, instant mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, tuna, Spam, canned corned beef, spaghetti sauce and pasta, boxed cereal, juice and powdered drink, peanut butter and jelly, spices and paper products.

For safety purposes, the rescue mission asks that people not bring anything in a glass container.
