Venture under the sea for "The Little Mermaid," Oct. 12-28 at DreamWrights Center for Community Arts, 100 Carlisle Ave. The classic Disney musical comes to life on stage, with two casts ranging from age 7 to adults. Country artist Sara Evans comes to the stage at Hanover's Eichelberger Performing Arts Center, 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. The first Ratchet Fest will celebrate urban life and culture, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Vellons, 412 Norway St., York City. The event includes live music and performances, vendors, a PizzaFest Mini contest, a community project to plant 100 feet of grapevines and more. Take in the fall scenery from the rails as the Ma & Pa Railroad Preservation Society offers fall foliage train rides, Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 13-21. After flooding in August, the society repaired tracks south of the Muddy Creek Forks train station that have not seen trains in more than a decade, offering a fresh look for fall. Take a stroll through a seasonal show with the Pumpkin Walk, 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, on the Heritage Rail Trail at the Seven Valleys parking lot. The 0.6-mile round-trip hike will be decorated and lighted with hand-carved pumpkins, with pumpkin carvers of all ages invited to participate. The Indigo Girls come to York Oct. 13.

The Indigo Girls perform on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Strand Theatre. "The Greatest Love of All" comes to the Pullo Center Oct. 18.

The music of Whitney Houston comes to life for "The Greatest Love of All," 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Pullo Center, on the campus of Penn State York.
