A local and world-renowned violinist will perform for the greatest generation in York County by visiting them in a retirement home.

Odin Rathnam will perform for the residents of Country Meadows Retirement Communities, 1920 Trolley Road, in the rotunda at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26.

Rathnam used to play for residents in nursing homes and quickly realized that many seniors now have a difficult time making it to the symphony. That's why he decided to bring the symphony to them, according to a news release.

The violinist debuted at the Lincoln Center in 1993 and has performed in many major European and American festivals.

As a soloist, he has performed with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and the San Juan Symphony. Locally, he has performed with the York Symphony Orchestra and Lancaster Symphony Orchestra.
