Get ready to spruce up your home for spring at the 50th annual York Builders Association Home & Garden Show, Friday through Sunday, Feb. 9-11, at the York Expo Center. The show includes four garden displays, 150 vendors and activities for kids. Hours: 1-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets: $8, register to return for a second day. The York College Division of Theatre presents "The Belle of Amherst," a Tony Award-winning, one-woman play based on the life of poet Emily Dickinson and starring guest artist Jennifer Burke of the University of Miami. Beer aficionados, take note: On Saturday, Feb. 10, Hibrewnation will bring 100 hand-selected craft beers to the York Expo Center for the tasting festival. Organizers promise a wide variety of rare and hard to find brews for those who appreciate them. Tickets: VIP admission, 1-5 p.m., $55, includes limited and timed-release offerings; general admission, 2-5 p.m., $40; designated driver, 1-5 p.m., $20, includes craft sodas and water. Take a closer look at the February night sky during a public starwatch, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the York County Astronomical Society observatory in John Rudy County Park. Bring your own telescope or look through one from the society as members guide a tour of stars, planets, nebulae and the moon. Free. An indoor program will be held if clouds block the view. "Musical Thrones: A Parody of Ice and Fire" brings a send-up of "Game of Thrones" to the stage at the Pullo Center Sunday, Feb. 11. The musical team behind "Silence! The Musical" has turned their pens and pianos to the seven seasons of HBO;s critical darling. Tickets: $49-$29. Information: pullocenter.york.psu.edu.

 Hartman's is getting busy making fastnachts for Fastnacht Day which is Tuesday, March 4. Beside selling to the public at their Central Market stand they also make these for the York County Heritage Trust which offers them for free to the public on Tuesday morning.  Bil Bowden photos

Tuesday, Feb. 13, is Fastnacht Day, and that means free fried treats from the York County History Center. Stop by between 9:30 a.m. and noon at the Historical Society Museum, 250 E. Market St., for a warm fastnacht and a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Nazu frican Dance Company will perform Feb. 14 at the Pullo Center.

Baltimore-based West African dance and drum ensemble Nazu African Dance Company will give a free performance, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Pullo Center, on the campus of Penn State York. Director Nai Zou Oivier was born in Ivory Coast and has danced around the world, including with the National Ballet of Ivory Coast and the National Ballet of France. British a capella sensation "Gobsmacked! The Musical" comes to the Pullo Center on the campus of Penn State York on Thursday, Feb. 15. The show features world champion beatboxer Ball-Zee and a cast of vocalists who tell a story using all forms of a capella singing. Showtime: 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $49-$29. York College presents "10 Out of 12," Feb. 15-17.

York College's Division of Theatre presents "10 Out of 12," 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15-17 in the Perko Theatre in the Waldner Performing Arts Center.
