The biggest light show in York County continues at Christmas Magic: A Festival of Lights in Rocky Ridge County park. The annual extravaganza features a half-mile trail decked out with lights, animations, trains, entertainment and food, along with stops at enclosed, heated buildings. Times: 6-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5-9 p.m. Friday through Sunday, through Dec. 31, closed Dec. 24 and 25. Admission: $10 adults, $5 children 4-12, under 4 free, seniors 60+ $9. Check out the magic of the elaborate model train layout at the Miniature Railroad Club of York's Annual Holiday Open House, open through Jan. 14. The 2,400-square-foot layout takes freight and passenger trains over 1,200 feet of track through scenes from around Pennsylvania during the 1960s and '70s. Hours: 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Welcome to the Kit Kat Club. The Pullo Center presents "Cabaret — The Musical," 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 at the stage on the campus of Penn State York. The production is based on the Roundabout Theatre Co.'s Tony-winning staging, bringing Sally Bowles, the Emcee and the ensemble to life with "Willkommen," "Maybe This Time" and more showstoppers. Walk off some of that Christmas dinner at a Marshmallow Hike, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, and 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Ricky Ridge County Park. The mid-day stroll starts from Pheasant Pavilion in the Hidden Laurel Picnic Area and winds through the woods, ending back at the pavilion for hot chocolate and a warm fire. Free. Children can learn about our feathered friends at the Kids Christmas Bird Count, 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Nixon County Park. Birding mentors from the York Audubon Society will hike with teams and help children participate in the annual bird count. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Kids get a chance to explore the York County History Center and discover artistic talents at Create & Imagine, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Historical Society Museum, Library & Archives, 250 E. Market St. The History Center and CreativeYork are teaming up for the event for children 4 and up. Activities include making marbled paper, a scavenger hunt, making a hat and seeing a preview of "Magic at the Museum." Admission: Free for members, $6 nonmember children, accompanying adults free.
