Country star Chase Rice headlines the Jingle Bell Jam, 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at the York Expo Center's Utz Arena. Rice's hits include "Ready, Set, Roll" and "Gonna Wanna Tonight," and his newest album, "Lambs and Lions," includes seven songs he co-wrote. Tickets: $15. "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery brings his Hits and Holiday, Live! show to the Strand Theatre, 50 N. George St. The country musician shot to stardom at age 17, and since then he's debuted three consecutive albums at No. 1 on a Billboard chart. Showtime: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. The Red Lion Train Station Model Railroaders invite the public to their open house in the Ma & Pa Railroad Red Lion Train Station Museum, 73 N. Main St. The club has O gauge, N gauge and other model railroad layouts set up in the station. Hours: 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17; 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, through Saturday, Dec. 30; and 7-11:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31. Free, donations accepted.
The holiday classic "White Christmas" comes to the big screen at the Capitol Theatre for three shows this weekend. The 1954 musical features Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen singing some of Irving Berlin's most well-known tunes. The York City School District will host a Night of Talent, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the auditorium at William Penn High School, enter through the doors on College Avenue. Along with the performances, there will be door prizes and giveaways. Admission: $1, proceeds benefit the Red Cross York disaster relief efforts.
