York City is getting in the holiday spirit early with its November First Friday event, Holiday Open House.

First Friday runs 5-9 p.m. Friday throughout the downtown area, featuring activities, performances and deals at area shops and restaurants. 

Some highlights this month:

The Goodridge Freedom Center, 123 E. Philadelphia St., opens its annual Christmas Tree Display, 4-8 p.m. The first home in York to have a Christmas tree will have a variety to see.

Jazz in the City, 5-7 p.m. at the Studio in the Appell Center for the Performing Arts, use the Philadelphia Street entrance. Jeff Stabley will welcome regional musicians.

Social Savvy in collaboration with Adore By Me and The Olivia Collection present the first Pink Carpet Pop Up. Snap, sip and shop with Ty'lea Adore and Siya Olivia at Make Me Over Beauty Supply Boutique, 17 S. Beaver St.

Studio 117 York, 117 S. Duke St., hosts the Beatz Holiday Party, with festive foods and beverages as well as musical performances. 

The free First Friday film is "The Princess and the Frog," 6:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 50 N. George St.
