York City kicks off Boutique Week with Fashion Friday, the First Friday event for September. The event includes beer and wine tastings, live entertainment and special promotions at shops, restaurants and bars throughout downtown York. It runs 5-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1.

Some highlights:

Greater York Dance will hold a talent search on Beaver Street.

CapFilm presents the 1950 animated classic "Cinderella," free, 7 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 50 N. George St.

At Ewe and Me Yarn Shop, 36 N. Beaver St., wear something you made and receive 15 percent off your purchase.

The Goodridge Freedom Center hosts Lancaster preservation advocate Randolph Harris at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the center, 123 E. Philadelphia St.

Sweet Melissa's Dream, 38 N. Beaver St., has a trunk show for jewelry artist Lori Campbell of LoMo Studio along with chocolate tastings and live models in the window.

Arthur & Daughters, 49 N. Beaver St., has a West Oak Design trunk show.
