59th Book Nook Bonanza taking place this weekend
Locals have the chance to pore over hundreds of thousands of books during the Book Nook Bonanza used book fundraiser taking place this weekend.
The three-day event is the largest used book sale on the East Coast, according to organizers, and it will be based out of the York City Ice Arena on Vander Avenue in York City.
The Book Nook Bonanza — entering its 59th year — benefits the York Hospital Auxiliary, the hospital’s volunteer organization.
This year’s proceeds will be used to fund the Auxiliary Small Grants Program, which helps individuals and programs within WellSpan, according to the health provider’s website.
WellSpan estimates that 250,000 books are sold or donated each year by the York Hospital Auxiliary.
Daily admission is $5 for adults, $1 for adolescents 13-18 years old and free for children 12 and younger. A weekend admission package costs $25 for those 13 and older includes early admission on Friday starting at 1 p.m.
Books in the general area are $2 for hardcover and $1 for paperback. In the children’s book area, books are five for $1.
