Easter egg hunts planned around York County


Whether they’re looking for the real, hard-boiled kind or the plastic kind filled with toys or candy, there are plenty of places where York County children can hone their Easter egg hunting skills this year. Here’s a list:

Pleasureville UMC, 2606 N. Sherman St.: Egg hunt for 1-year-olds to fifth-graders with kids crafts and a coffee break for parents, 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Information: 717-757-3217 or pleasurevilleumc@outlook.com.

St. Paul’s Wolf’s ECC, 4501 Wolf’s Church Road: Egg hunt and lunch for children ages 2-12, 11 a.m. Saturday. Information: 717-792-0731.

York City: 42nd annual egg hunt for children ages 1-8 with arts and crafts, games and free hot dogs, 1 p.m. Saturday at Kiwanis Lake. Rain date: Sunday.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2121 Roosevelt Ave.: Easter story, crafts, refreshments and egg hunt for children ages 10 and younger, 1 p.m. Saturday. Held rain or shine. Bring your own basket. Information: 717-764-4746 or gs_york@verizon.net.

Spry United Methodist Church, 50 School St.: craft, door prizes and egg hunt for children up to age 12, 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday. There will also be an egg-hunt area for children with food allergies. Information: 717-741-1429 or Laurie@sprychurch.com.

St. James Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Road, Brogue: Egg hunt followed by a covered-dish lunch, games and activities for all ages, 11 a.m. Sunday in the social hall. Information: 927-9497.

Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 1784 Woodbine Road, Airville: Community egg hunt, with games, crafts, storytime and snack, all ages, those seventh grade and up can help hide the eggs, 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, raindate Saturday, April 15.
