Lynyrd Skynyrd returning to the York Fair

Influential rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd has been announced as one of the main acts coming to the 252nd York Fair this September.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will be returning to the York Fair in 2017 as part of the fair's concert series.

The band — including core members Gary Rossington, Johnny Van Zant and Rickey Medlock — will return to the fairgrounds at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14. The group also performed at the fair in 2007.

Tickets for the rock group known for hits such as “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird” and “Simple Man” will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 25. Ticket prices range from $29 to $44. The box office is normally open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Concert tickets, with the exception of “will call,” will include admission to the fair.
