York College professor and pianist Kenneth Osowski will present a piano recital, 7:30 p.m. Friday at the DeMeester Recital Hall, Evelyn and Earle Wolfe Hall on the campus. The performance includes works by Scarlatti, Schumann, Ravel and others. Free.
Get away from the winter doldrums with Hibrewnation, a festival of beers, Saturday at the York Expo Center. The event features more than 100 regional craft beers, including limited selections and rare finds, along with foods to go along with them. The York Symphony Orchestra presents "The Romantics," 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St. The concert features works by Tchaikovsky and Brahms, including Brahms' Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, with performances by YSO musical director Lawrence Golan and cellist Steven Honigsberg from the National Symphony Orchestra. For the 21st year, the Millennium Music Conference and Showcase will take over music venues in and around Harrisburg for its annual look at the music industry and some of the hottest upcoming groups.
