What's happening in York this weekend

The York County History Center and the Cultural Alliance of York County partner up for a Family Day at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, 217 W. Princess St. Activities include creating snow slime, turning juice into a slushie using your own energy, weaving, safe cracking, building and racing a scooterbot and more. Entertainment schedule: Staven Courtney and Suitcase Musicians, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; York Youth Symphony Orchestra performance and instrument petting zoo, noon-1 p.m.; Weary Art Group "How to be a Rock Star" lesson, 1-2 p.m. Free. Learn more about the stars with the York County Astronomical Society programs at the York Learning Center Planetarium. Saturday, the society offers a new children's program, "One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure" at 2 p.m.,and for older family members, "Sunstruck" at 8:20 p.m. Other shows start at 2:40 p.m., 3:20 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Tickets: $4 adults, $3 children and seniors for the first show, $1 for any second or third show. Check out the talents at Penn State York at Paw Search, 7 p.m. Saturday at the Pullo Center on the campus. The talent and variety show benefits THON, the Penn State fundraiser to help children and their families in the battle against pediatric cancer.
