Saturday is New Year's Eve, and there are events happening all around York County:

Dillsburg's Pickle Drop begins at 4:30 p.m. at Citizens Hose Fire Co.’s Community Memorial Hall with children's events, and "Lil' Dill" will be dropped at 7 p.m. Beginning at 9 p.m., the town invites people to dance in the streets along South Baltimore Street until the Pickle Drop at midnight on the square, followed by a fireworks show. Red Lion's New Year's Eve festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the first of many concerts around the borough. Ten sites will have entertainment through the evening, along with food and drinks. The party wraps up with the raising of the Red Lion cigar at midnight at the square, followed by a fireworks display. York City's Children's Countdown runs 6-8 p.m. at Central Market House. Kids will get free hats and noisemakers, and there will be family-friendly entertainment, a dance party, photo booths, glitter tattoos and more, capped off with a balloon drop countdown at 8 p.m.

York City's adult New Year's Eve celebration begins around 11 p.m. at Continental Square, with the traditional countdown to the lowering of the white rose at midnight, followed by a fireworks display. Information: www.yorkcity.org/NYE.

What better time to do the Time Warp than New Year's Eve? The Capitol Theatre and Weary Arts Group present "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," 9 p.m. Saturday at the theater, 50 N. George St. The film screening includes live actors on the stage, and everyone attending will receive an action grab bag. he Parliament Arts Organization opens a new exhibit, The Golden Ratio, with a reception, 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the gallery, 116 E. King St. The Golden Ratio is a proportion of 1 to 1.618 that is found in nature and mimicked by artists. The Parliament asked artists to submit their works that represent the ratio for the exhibit. The exhibit will be up through Feb. 25. Gallery hours: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Information: www.parliamentyork.org.
