York Weekend Sports for 11/11

The District 3 football playoffs start this weekend with seven York-Adams League teams in the field. Six of those teams will play at 7 p.m. Friday, while the other game will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Saturday contest is the feature game of the weekend and will pit York Catholic vs. Newport in the District 3 Class 2-A championship at Boiling Springs High School.

The West York girls’ volleyball team will compete in the PIAA Class 3-A state quarterfinals Saturday. The Bulldogs will take on Palmyra at Hempfield High School, with action slated to start at 11 a.m. The winner will advance to Tuesday’s state semifinals.
