What's happening this weekend in York
The Fortunata Trio will premiere two pieces during a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at York College's DeMeester Recital Hall. The woodwind trio will perform "Summer Dance" by York College Director of Instrumental Studies James Colonna and "Caricatures" by Matthew Jaskot, a faculty member at College of the Holy Cross, as well as works by a variety of women composers. Central Market will go for the gourds with Pumpkin Fest, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in downtown York. The festival includes pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, face painting and a pumpkin pie contest at 1 p.m. Vendors will get in the spirit with specials including pumpkin break French toast, pumpkin roll cupcakes, deep fried pumpkin cheesecake bites, pumpkin seed salsa and many more. The York Jewish Community Center begins its 2016 Jewish Film Festival, Sunday and Nov. 13 and Nov. 20.
