The 2016 Yorkfest Fine Arts Festival is Friday through Sunday and features 100 selected fine artists from around the country. The free event begins with a reception opening the Juried Art Exhibition, 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum, 217 W. Princess St. The festival runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday in downtown York, including the Colonial Court House Complex, York County Heritage Rail Trail, Market Street between Codorus Creek and Beaver Street and the first block of North Pershing Avenue. DreamWrights Center for the Community Arts presents its first 21+ Open Mic Night, 8-11 p.m. Friday at the theater, 100 Carlisle Ave. The entertainment includes father and son blues duo 10 Gauge. The seventh annual Pennsylvania Cigar Box Guitar Festival runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of West Market Street. Fourteen bands will perform on two stages, with musicians from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, new York, Alabama and Chicago scheduled to be there. The St. John's Concert Series begins its season, Stirring Music in a Sacred Space, with a concert by Lawrence Golan, violinist and music director of the York Symphony Orchestra. Golan will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. John Episcopal Church, 140 N. Beaver St. Free. Information: 848-1862.
